Upcoming cars in India in 2014

During the 2014 Indian auto show many cars have been introduced; 32 production models and 18 concept models. Many show-cased models during the Indian auto expo have been launched subsequently. During the first half of the year the vehicles launched in India include the refreshed sedan Honda City, the Audi RS7 Sportback, the SUV Hyundai Santa Fe, the Hyundai Xcent, the Ford Fiesta, the Ford Endeavour, the Toyota Corolla Altis, the Toyota Etios Cross, the Maruti Celerio, the Skoda Superb and the Fiat Linea.

In the second half of 2014 also there have been many launches. The new Alto K10, the new Swift and the Ciaz from the Maruti Suzuki, the Avventura and the Punto Evo from the Fiat, the Yeti and Rapid from the Skoda, The Vento and the Polo from the Volkswagen, the Honda Mobilio, the Hyundai Elite i20, the Tata Zest, the new Mahindra Scorpio and the Chevrolet Sail have been launched during this time. Launching of premium cars like the Mini Cooper, the Mercedes Benz GLA, the BMW X3, the Audi A3, the Mercedes Benz CLA class and the Lamborghini Huracan also took place during the second half of this year. In November 2014 the BMW M3, the BMW M4 and the Mercedes Benz C class have been launched.

Many of the car makers have decided to postpone the launch of their unveiled products. The launching of the eagerly awaited cars the Tata Bolt, the Maruti Suzuki XA-Alpha, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Sport, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Extender (hybrid), the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Utility Crossover from Honda the Vision XS-1 are delayed. Some of them may be launched before the end of the year. The Tata Bolt, the much awaited hatchback is expected in early 2015 at a price of Rupees 4.22 to 6.6 lakh.

Few more new cars are expected before the end of 2014. The Audi A3 Cabriolet variant is expected at a price of Rupees 22.5 lakh. The Datsun Go+, a 7-seater MPV at a starting price of Rupees 5 lakh, the Ford Figo concept sedan at a price of Rupees 5.5 to 7.5 lakh, the sedan Skoda Octavia vRS priced Rupees 18 to 21 lakh, the Swift Dzire Facelift are ready for the launch at any time.

The early 2015 will also see new launches like the DC Avanti, the Tata Nano AMT, the MPV Renault Lodgy, the Maruti Suzuki S-cross Sx4, the Mahindra Quanto AMT and the Ford Ka hatchback. There are high expectations on the Mitsubishi Mirage, the Chevrolet Adra, the new Honda Jazz, the new Tat safari Storme, the new Volkswagen Jetta and the new Honda Brio which are all ready for an early launching.
