If you are a car owner, I am sure that you have heard the term lemon car by now. A lemon car is a negative term used to describe a defective car. Usually, the new owner of this car realizes that he bought a lemon car after already completing the purchase. this is not something that we want to happen to us as we all want to get good deals and be happy with them. I am going to offer you a few tips that will help you to avoid buying a lemon car.

1. Always buy from reputable dealers in your area. Buying from private parties might not be encouraged unless you are an expert when it comes to car and can spot a lemon car straight away. Dealers wouldn’t risk their reputation by selling something to the public that is not worth the money.

2. Check the mileage on the odometer before buying a car. This is the most important indication of the condition of a car. Another good indication of the condition of a car is its brake pedal. If it is worn off, then the car has been through a lot.

3. Always test-drive any car you wish to buy or at least have your eye on. You should be allowed to test drive any vehicle you are considering buying. If somebody refuses you the deal of test driving a car, don’t do any business with that person.

4. Investigate if there are any lemon laws in your state or country. You might be more protected against lemon car fraud than you think. the key is to know what type of warranty you have.

5. Try to obtain a vehicle history report. Such a report will show you anything you will want to know about the car of your choice including how many times it was repaired for example.
